Stepping Into A Bright Future - The Winter Solstice Firewalk

The Winter Solstice is a turning point in the year. Leading up to this moment the days shorten and the nights lengthen. The sun appears at its lowest point in the sky, and its midday elevation seems to be the same for a number of days before and after the solstice (origin of solstice; from sol, "sun" and -stitium, "a stoppage"). At this 'pause' in the sun's journey, it is useful to give yourself the time to take stock, to reflect on the year past, to learn from it; and make plans for the year ahead.

With the arrival of the solstice in ancient traditions, it was a time where peoples celebrated the rebirth of the sun and naturally fire was at the centre of those traditions.
